Born in Canterbury, Orlando Bloom joined the National Youth Theater in London at the age of sixteen before continuing his studies at the prestigious British American Drama Academy .

In 1997, the actor starred in his first film, Wilde , alongside Stephen Fry , Jude Law and Vanessa Redgrave .
